Paint and Porcelain
Her face an empty canvas; her mind a colourful brush To paint on the expressions the world wishes to see. Her body like pliable clay, moulded nightly into new forms She becomes the embodiment of your wildest fantasy. Underneath the kohl and lipstick are her tears Inside her head lies a fragile mind toughened By the rough grip of reality One man distorted what she knew and before her laid a precarious path To tread, and even she with dancer’s feet, was caught off balance. Descend she did, with tortured grace Into his arms, and there she stayed, though her heart begged Release When they joined in movement together, turning their indifference to fire She felt alive again, nearly ethereal Thus wings unfurled upon her shoulders in sweetest redemption And she flew above the heights of ecstasy Until the wings burned in her passion’s flame and delivered her swiftly Into remorse’s hands.
